This role ensures clinical and operational departments receive timely, cost-effective, and high-quality materials and equipment to support safe, efficient patient care. The Director oversees sourcing, contracting, courier services, and standardization initiatives while optimizing inventory levels and supply chain processes to support organizational performance. Working closely with leaders, vendors, and cross-functional teams, this position promotes collaboration, regulatory compliance, strong supplier partnerships, and systemwide supply chain integrity within a coordinated, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities: Oversee procurement, inventory, distribution, and supply chain operations to ensure timely availability of products, equipment, and supplies across the organization. Direct sourcing activities, vendor relationships, GPO contract utilization, and standardization programs that support cost-effective purchasing and operational efficiency. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls that promote accuracy, compliance, and effective stewardship of materials and resources. Lead and mentor Materials Management staff, promoting competency, customer service, and continuous improvement across functional areas. Monitor inventory performance, supply utilization, and market trends to guide planning, forecasting, and decision-making. Collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative teams to address supply needs, support capital and operating initiatives, and enhance supply chain workflows. QualificationsLicenses and Certifications Required: None Educational Requirements: BS Business Administration and/or Accounting with emphasis on Healthcare. Master’s degree preferred. Experience may be accepted in place of a college degree. Experience Requirements: Minimum of (5) years of experience in supply chain operations. Healthcare/Director Level preferred. Special Skills or Training Requirements: Knowledge of JCAHO and state regulations for acute, skilled nursing, and long term care facilities. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Basic computer skills. Advanced capabilities with spreadsheets, database management, flowcharting, project management, and electronic commerce applications preferred. Ability to work with managerial and medical professional individuals collaboratively. Physical Requirements: The Director is frequently required to walk through warehouse, distribution, and clinical areas to oversee operations and assess supply needs. The role may involve standing, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or movement of boxes, supplies, or equipment. Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are essential for evaluating inventory, using computer systems, and communicating with staff, vendors, and departments. Environmental Requirements: Work occurs in a combination of office, warehouse, and hospital environments, including storage areas, loading docks, and clinical support spaces. The role may encounter varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to moving equipment and delivery operations. Adherence to safety procedures, PPE requirements, and material-handling standards is essential. Occasional travel across the medical district or to affiliated facilities may be required to support systemwide supply chain needs.
