The City of Minot is accepting applications for the entry level position of Public Safety Telecommunicator/Dispatcher in the DispatchĀ Department, with an application deadline of Thursday, September 10th 2026.Ā This position is open to all qualified internal and external applicants.Ā

Nature of Work

This is entry level communications work, which entails taking calls for service, monitoring emergency service radios and dispatching police, fire and emergency medical crews while documenting the information in the designated computer program. Must be able to pass a pre-employment hearing screening, drug screening, and a pre-employment background check.

Education and Experience

  • Graduation from High School
  • Some experience in the use of communications equipment, computer systems, and phone systems; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Compensation and BenefitsĀ 

  • The assigned salary range for Public Safety Telecommunicator/Dispatcher under the 2026 City of Minot Annual Pay Plan is a Grade 52, with an annual salary range of $45,799- $67,990, with a starting hourly wage of $22.02 per hour.Ā 
  • This is a full time, FLSA non-exempt position.Ā
