This role performs focused clinical assessments, delivers evidence-based treatments within scope, and supports providers in the evaluation and management of a wide range of health concerns. Working collaboratively with providers and clinic staff, the RN helps maintain efficient patient flow through care coordination, procedural support, and accurate documentation with clear follow-up instructions. As part of a supportive, team-oriented ambulatory setting, this position contributes to high-quality care delivery and a positive patient experience through sound clinical judgment and compassionate interaction. Key Responsibilities: Perform nursing assessments, obtain health histories, and collect vital signs to support provider evaluation and timely care delivery. Administer treatments, point-of-care tests, immunizations, and medications in accordance with clinic protocols and patient needs. Assist providers with minor procedures, specimen collection, and care coordination to promote efficient throughput and safe clinical practice. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient communications in the electronic health record. Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, self-care instructions, and follow-up expectations to support understanding and adherence. Monitor clinic flow, collaborate with front office and clinical staff, and help ensure a clean, safe, and well-prepared patient care environment. QualificationsLicenses and Certifications Required: Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN licensure. CPR required within orientation period. Ongoing Point of Care certifications as required for department required within orientation period. Educational Requirements: RN program as evidenced by licensure. BSN preferred. Experience Requirements: One year or more of professional nursing experience preferred. Clinic experience preferred. Coding experience preferred. Special Skills or Training Requirements: Computer use Additional competencies required for IV infusions. Schedule to include weekend and holiday rotation. Physical Requirements: The RN Walk In is frequently required to stand, walk, and move between exam rooms throughout the clinic day. The role involves bending, reaching, and assisting patients with positioning, as well as handling medical supplies, equipment, and occasionally lifting or moving items needed for patient care. Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are essential for performing assessments, administering medications, and operating clinic instruments and computer systems. Environmental Requirements: This position works in a fast-paced outpatient clinic with exposure to a wide range of acute illnesses, requiring adherence to infection-prevention protocols and the use of appropriate PPE. The RN may encounter frequent interruptions and fluctuating patient volumes, including walk-in surges and seasonal demand. The environment involves working closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff while managing sensitive information and maintaining a calm, professional presence.
