General Purpose:

Golf Host/Greeter is responsible for providing excellent customer service for our members and guests. Greeting them and ensuring that their round of golf gets off to a smooth start.

Essential Duties:

• Answers the phone courteously and takes tee time reservations.

• Checks daily play receipts from all golfers, ensuring that everyone has paid prior to teeing off.

• Announces the order of play to the #1 Tee Box in a timely and orderly fashion.

• Maintains the range ball inventory, ensuring that there is an adequate supply at all times.

• Responds to all customer concerns, questions, and complaints in a positive, respectful, and courteous manner at all times.

• Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.

• Fills in for other staff as necessary and/or required.

• Attends meetings, classes, and trainings as required or requested by supervisor.

• Encouraged to recommend changes to improve procedures that would result in efficiencies, cost savings and safety.

• Communicates actively, clearly and regularly with supervisor and co-workers on all work-related topics.

• Possesses excellent oral and written skills to communicate effectively as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic Required Skills: 

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.

• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Knowledge of table service standards.

• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.

• Ability to describe all menu items and methods of preparation.

• May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

• Most work tasks are performed outdoors in the seasonal elements.

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.

• Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.

• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 20-50 lbs. on occasion.

• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.

• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.

• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.

• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
