Position Summary
The Banquet Driver (Stewarding)Â plays a critical role in supporting banquet and culinary operations by safely transporting equipment, food, beverages, and supplies across the resort. This position ensures timely and accurate delivery for events while maintaining organization, cleanliness, and efficiency within stewarding operations. The role operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and requires strong attention to detail and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport banquet equipment, food, beverages, and supplies to and from event locations across the resort
- Load and unload banquet items including tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, and kitchen equipment
- Ensure all deliveries are accurate, timely, and meet event setup requirements
- Assist with banquet setup and breakdown as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of loading docks, storage areas, and vehicles
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
- Support stewarding team with dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitation duties during peak periods
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with banquet, culinary, and stewarding teams to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Previous experience in hospitality, stewarding, or banquet operations preferred
- Ability to operate delivery vans or small trucks safely
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull heavy banquet equipment and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds, including tables, chairs, dish racks, glass racks, and food transport containers
- Continuous standing and walking for the majority of the shift, often across large resort grounds and between multiple event venues
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching (including overhead) to load, unload, and properly store equipment
- Repetitive motions involving lifting, stacking, and transporting items throughout the shift with minimal downtime
- Ability to safely load and secure items in vehicles, requiring strength, balance, and coordination
- Operation of delivery vehicles for extended periods, requiring sustained focus, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to enter and exit vehicles repeatedly
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to heat, humidity, rain, and varying weather conditions typical of a coastal resort
- Ability to navigate ramps, stairs, uneven surfaces, and tight storage or loading areas while carrying or maneuvering equipment
- Tolerance for high noise levels, busy loading docks, and fast-paced event environments
- Physical stamina to work long shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
