Position Overview: As a Housekeeper at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction within our luxury resort environment. Your attention to detail, dedication to providing exceptional service, and commitment to maintaining the pristine condition of our accommodations will contribute to creating a memorable experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Room Cleaning: Perform thorough cleaning of our vacation guest condos, homes, bungalows, and common areas following established resort standards and guidelines.
- Linen and Supplies: Ensure proper stocking of linens, towels, toiletries, and other amenities in guest rooms. Restock supplies in a timely manner to maintain guest comfort.
- Sanitization: Pay meticulous attention to sanitizing all surfaces, fixtures, and high-touch areas to meet health and safety standards, especially in the current global context.
- Attention to Detail: Check rooms for any maintenance issues, report any damages or required repairs to the appropriate department, and ensure that all in-room equipment and amenities are in working order.
- Guest Interaction: Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, responding to their needs, requests, and concerns promptly and courteously.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow housekeeping team members to efficiently manage room turnovers and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Quality Control: Conduct self-inspections to ensure that rooms are cleaned to the highest standards before guest check-in.
- Adherence to Policies: Follow resort policies and procedures related to housekeeping, safety, and guest services.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of rooms cleaned and report any lost and found items.
- Environmental Awareness: Promote eco-friendly practices by conserving energy, water, and other resources while performing daily tasks.
Qualifications:
- Prior housekeeping experience in a hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be willing to walk outside between units in the elements.

Physical Requirements:
- Mobility and Stamina: Housekeepers must have the physical ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods, often on various surfaces such as carpets, tiles, and outdoor walkways.
- Stair Climbing: Ability to navigate stairs efficiently and safely, as many areas of the resort may require going up and down multiple flights of stairs.
- Lifting and Carrying: Capability to lift and carry cleaning supplies, linens, and other items that may weigh up to 25-30 pounds on a regular basis.
- Bending and Stooping: Flexibility to bend, stoop, and kneel for tasks such as cleaning low surfaces, making beds, and picking up items from the floor.
- Reaching and Stretching: Reach high and low areas for cleaning purposes, including reaching above the head to clean shelves and reaching under furniture.
- Pushing and Pulling: Ability to push and pull cleaning equipment such as carts, vacuum cleaners, and mops.
- Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity to perform tasks like changing bed linens, folding towels, and cleaning delicate surfaces.
- Physical Endurance: Housekeepers should have the stamina to work efficiently throughout the day, which may include cleaning multiple rooms or areas in succession.
- Outdoor Work: Tolerance for working in various weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, and rain when cleaning outdoor areas.
- Health and Fitness: Maintain good physical health to perform the job safely and efficiently. This may include regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
- Safety Awareness: Awareness of safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries while working in diverse environments.
