Applications System Administrator I

JOB SUMMARY:

Ā 

Has responsibility to meet or exceed the required expectations of our ā€œESPā€ (Exceptional Service Provider) program (refer to the Employee Handbook).Ā 

Ā 

In accordance with established policies and procedures, and direction from the VP Project Management, Data Processing. This individual manages assigned product lines from implementation through deployment and life cycle.Ā  The individual will coordinate updates, enhancements, and expansion of essential banking software systems and assures the delivery of information in a timely manner to customers both internal and external.Ā  This individual helps support the Bank’s Data Processing daily functions and assists end users with system understanding and functionality.Ā  The individual also provides department and bank compliance reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. The work of the successful candidate influences the professional image of the Bank within the community it serves.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Ā 

  • Ability to prepare and interpret detailed verbal or written instructions and/or perform complex mathematical functions.
  • Prior knowledge of bank core system, ancillary, and office desktop applications is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of prior experience in the following areas or combination of areas is required: compliance, item processing, electronic banking, bank core system, product management, ancillary, or other system administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, implement and maintain new systems.
  • Minimum educational requirements include a high school diploma, college degree is preferred.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in organization and prioritization of the workflows.Ā 
  • The capability to work well under pressure and meet daily deadlines is essential to successful job performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize tact, confidentiality and good customer service skills when dealing with other bank personnel, clients, and vendors.
  • Advanced proficiency in all aspects of personal computers (Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, etc.) is necessary.
  • Ability to learn new software, applications, create standard operating procedures, and complete training for a variety of end users.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / EXPECTATIONS (Weighting cannot exceed 100%; Each % represents the value of the job, not time spent):

Ā

  • Provide ongoing technical and administrative support for various systems within the bank. (Weighting Percentage: 20%)

  • Provide support in the installation, update, and maintenance of banking application software (Weighting Percentage: 20%)

  • Maintain various procedure manuals and user guides to ensure repetitive procedures are accurately completed in case of absenteeism, pandemic, or DRP. (Weighting Percentage: 10%)

Ā 

  • Provide reviews and maintenance of current equipment, software, and processes to ensure that all banking operation activities are conducted in an efficient and effective manner. (Weighting Percentage: 20%)

  • Coordinate activities with third party vendors on various systems as assigned. Work through problems reported and request system enhancements for deficiencies and work on planned future developments and implementations. (Weighting Percentage: 10%)

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ā 

  • Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by VP Project Management, Data Processing manager and/or Chief Strategy & Innovation Officerto ensure a continuous workflow of daily operations.
  • Conduct training of users on banking application software
  • Performs vendor defined user maintenance and preventative maintenance on core application software.
  • Maintains log (using automated tracking system) of core application related issues/ problems.
  • Assist with testing and deployment of new technologies.
