Take Out Specialist

Mustard Seed is hiring a daytime Takeout Specialists! This role is vital to our operations during the day. You will oversee all aspects of our busy To-Go desk. 

The Take Out Specialist answers phones, takes orders, bags them and sends them out the door; all while keeping that station clean, organized and moving smoothly. 

Mustard Seed offers flexible schedules and a base wage of $15 to $18 an hour depending on restaurant experience, plus tips. We believe that exceptional service and guest satisfaction starts with treating our employees right. Come find out why many employees have been with us for over 10 years!

This position offers the fun of working in a busy restaurant, without the late nights. 

Our Takeout specialists are a vital part of our day-to-day operations. In addition to management of our takeout station, successful applicants will be assisting hosts, take orders over the phone and bring positive and cheerful energy to our guests. Helping the rest of the front of house staff maintain smooth operation of the restaurant. As a To-Go specialist, you will have to have a good understanding of the restaurant’s food offerings and the ability to maintain your cool and remain organized in fast paced scenarios so that guests receive their food accurately and efficiently.

You will have responsibilities such as:

• Maintain a clean and orderly takeout station.
• Bag or box food that is for to-go.
• Greet customers when entering or leaving the restaurant.
• Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area.
• Bring a spark of energy to every shift!
• Taking orders for takeout and adjusting orders to fit customer needs.

And have following required knowledges, skills, and ability:

• Prior restaurant experience in an expo, server, or similar role. 
• Ability to smile and communicate clearly with guests.
• Able to arrive at work on time and reliably.
• Ability to stand on your feet for a long time.
• Be able to answer the phone and take orders efficiently and with a positive attitude.
• The ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, move, and reach freely

The Mustard Seed was started in 1978 in Missoula, Montana by a group of friends and family. Included in that group were sisters Betty and Nancy Tokumoto and Betty's husband, David Hall. Betty and Nancy grew up in Okinawa, Bangkok, and Hawaii and attended college in Oregon; so, they have a unique ability to blend the cooking styles of the Far East with the tastes of the Pacific Northwest. Our recipes were created or inspired by the Tokumoto sisters.
