School Psychologist ($3000 bonus eligible)

Birch Agency is seeking a qualified, licensed, and dedicated School Psychologist for our client southwest of Houston, TX to conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations on a regular basis. The individual will also provide psychological services to support student learning and development.

Education and Qualifications:

  • - Masters Degree

  • - PhD (preferred)

  • - Valid Texas license as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology

  • - Texas licensure as a Psychologist or working towards licensure

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Assessment and Evaluation

  • Conduct comprehensive individual psycho-educational evaluations for referrals and three-year re-evaluations within timelines as prescribed by law.

  • Conduct student observations in general education and special education classrooms.

  • Maintain current knowledge regarding research, development, and technology in the field of individual evaluation relating to student eligibility for special education services.

Consultation and Collaboration

  • Provide leadership to the campus in the Pre-Referral Process, ARD Process, Child Find procedures, and Confidentiality of Student Records.

  • Provide leadership to the campus multidisciplinary evaluation in the placement process.

  • Conduct in-service training and consultative services for general and special education teachers.

Student Support and Intervention

  • Provide leadership in the development and monitoring of individual student behavior improvement plans.

  • Provide direct services to students eligible for psychological services as a related service.

  • Provide parents progress reports related to students identified IEP goals and objectives on a six-week basis.
