About The Role

The Director of Sales will be responsible for all sales and business development activity in the United States.         

Responsibilities

  • This person will have overall responsibility for the annual sales strategy and execution. 

  • They will direct and lead efforts to manage existing customer relationships and will work to identify, develop, and manage new strategic targets. 

  • As a senior member of the company’s management, this person will manage and coach the national sales force, develop standard sales policies, procedures, and standards, develop career development paths and succession planning and have responsibility for the pricing terms/contracts and customer commitments and dealer agreements.

  • Understands and leverages sales and marketing disciplines.

Candidate Requirements 

Based anywhere in the United States with efficient access to the market. Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required if sales management experience exceeds 5 years and sales experience, inclusive of management experience, exceeds 15 years. Includes 10+ years of sales experience with 3+ years of sales management experience in an industrial business. Sales/sales management experience in the manufacturing of highly engineered and customized products is highly preferred. Strong sales leadership skills as demonstrated by a record of guiding sales growth through a direct sales organization, a commercial dealer network, and/or alternative channels. Ability to transition to a performance-driven, process-directed sales team by motivating and coaching the sales force to higher expectations and a track record of building and sustaining relationships across all functions and through all levels in an organization to ensure seamless integration and flawless execution of marketing plans. Proven experience building and leading a sales organization utilizing a disciplined process (e.g., territory planning, sales calls), and managing a sales volume of at least $100 million. Must have strong business-to-business sales background, ideally with experience serving the construction, general commercial and other specialty markets. Business Acumen: Understands what drives business success and value creation. Has mastered the financial and commercial skills required to be successful operating at the executive level.
