About Sorrel River Ranch

Sorrel River Ranch is a Four-Diamond luxury guest ranch along the Colorado River, surrounded by 240 acres of stunning red-rock country. Just 17 miles from Moab and close to Arches and Canyonlands, Sorrel is where adventure, great food, genuine hospitality, and meaningful connection come together.

Our team is at the heart of the experience. We’re looking for people who take pride in what they do, enjoy working with others, and want to be part of something special in one of the most beautiful places in the West.

Come work somewhere beautiful, be part of a great team, and make every day an adventure.

The Role

As our Journeyman HVAC Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in keeping Sorrel comfortable, safe, and running smoothly. In a remote ranch environment, your expertise matters—you’ll work across a wide variety of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems while helping maintain the high standards expected at a luxury property.

This is a role for a highly experienced technician who enjoys variety, troubleshooting, and solving problems the right way. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, staying organized, and taking ownership of your work.

If you’re the kind of mechanic who knows your systems inside and out—and takes pride in leaving every workspace better than you found it—we want to meet you.

What You’ll Be Working On

You’ll need strong experience across a diverse range of systems, including:

  • Small-tonnage ground-source and water-source heat pumps.
  • Multi-zone heat pump systems.
  • Light commercial refrigeration.
  • Ice machines.
  • Mini-split systems.
  • Cooking and commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Lift stations.
  • Electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting.
  • General HVAC maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a highly experienced, hands-on HVAC professional who is confident working across multiple systems and knows how to troubleshoot from the controls all the way through the equipment.

Required qualifications include:

  • 15+ years of diversified HVAC experience preferred.
  • Journeyman-level HVAC knowledge and experience.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong understanding of controlled systems and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Experience with heat pumps, refrigeration, ice machines, mini-splits, cooking equipment, and lift stations.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a remote environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly organized and exceptionally neat—this is a must.
  • Pride in workmanship and a commitment to safety and quality.

Come Keep the Ranch Running

Working at Sorrel is different from working in a typical commercial environment. You’ll be surrounded by red-rock cliffs and the Colorado River, but you’ll also be part of a remote property where versatility, experience, and good problem-solving matter every day.

Your work will directly impact the comfort of our guests, the effectiveness of our team, and the operation of the ranch.

Bring your expertise somewhere extraordinary. Keep the systems running, solve the tough problems, and become part of the Sorrel community.

Limited rental housing may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
