Job Description:
Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site is looking for Cabin Installers, Structures Assemblers and ElectriciansĀ to join our A320 Line 2 Prod Team in Mobile, AL.
Position Summary:
Cabin Installers, Electrical Installers and Structures Assemblers assist the Station 35 Operations Leader in providing an orderly flow of production according to the schedule. This includes assigning work, securing materials and tools, training operators and reporting and monitoring production quality and output. Activities are limited to a specific function or area.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assumes all routine production responsibilities of the Operations Leader in the leader's absence.
- Troubleshoots production issues and secures necessary assistance to resolve them.
- Reviews production schedule and assigns work to facilitate meeting schedules.
- Establishes an orderly flow of parts, tools and materials.
- Keeps production records and monitors for accuracy of reporting.
- In conjunction with Quality monitors line quality and notifies personnel of deviations.
- Assists manager in performance reviews, recommends disciplinary action, promotion, etc.
- Is an advocate for LEAN within group; encourages LEAN thinking and supports and assists in the implementation of LEAN initiatives/KAIZENS.
- Ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations/company policies and procedures relating to workmanship.
- Trains new operators and cross-trains as assigned.
- May be responsible for coordinating activities with other contractors.
- Performs work on aircraft and may also fill in for absent operators as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Education:
Required: high school diploma or GED
Experience:
- Must possess 2 years of aviation experience.
- Must have minimum 1 year specific Station 35 activities: Installation of fuel system, Panel Installation IWO Belly Fairing, Empennage Rigging of HTP & VTP & flight controls testing, Wing System slat & Flap Installation, Cabin floor, seats & walls installation, Cargo Floor, wall, ceiling lining installation, door rigging & radome installation.
- Leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge,Ā Skills, DemonstratedĀ Capabilities:
- A thorough knowledgeĀ ofĀ processesĀ being used in Station 35 areaĀ of responsibility (Fuel, Belly Fairing, Empennage, Wing System (Flaps & slats installation), Cabin & Cargo ).
- Strong and strict adherenceĀ to FOD andĀ ToolĀ ControlĀ procedures.
- Strong organizational skills.
CommunicationĀ Skills:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
TechnicalĀ SystemsĀ Proficiency:
- MustĀ be able to use Google WorkSpace, SAP,Ā MES, Zamiz, DocMaster, and Aircraft Progress.
PhysicalĀ Requirements:
- Vision:Ā adequate to enterĀ and readĀ materialĀ onĀ computer screens. AbleĀ to identify individualsĀ to initiate greetings, the givingĀ of directions andĀ other business interactions.
- Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage inĀ conversation inĀ office settings Able toĀ hear safety alerts andĀ warning signals.
- Speaking: able toĀ engage in conversations inĀ person andĀ via electronic means andĀ deliver informationĀ to groupsĀ of varying size withĀ or without amplification.
- Equipment Operation: able toĀ operate a wide rangeĀ of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms.
- Carrying:Ā ableĀ toĀ occasionally carry upĀ to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issuesĀ or asĀ partĀ of continuousĀ improvement projects.
- Lifting:Ā ableĀ toĀ occasionally lift upĀ toĀ 30lbs/14kg.
- Pushing/Pulling: ableĀ to push/pull items inĀ office areas andĀ on shop floor.
- Sitting:Ā able to sitĀ for extended periodsĀ of time atĀ computer and in meetings.
- Squatting/Kneeling: able toĀ occasionally squatĀ or kneel to retrieveĀ or replace items shelvedĀ on bottom shelves.
- Standing:Ā ableĀ toĀ stand for extended periodsĀ of timeĀ delivering information.
- Travel/Mobility: ableĀ to travelĀ overseas and domesticallyĀ sometimes for extended periodsĀ of time andĀ on shortĀ notice.
- Able toĀ work:Ā outsideĀ hangers in changing locations. Able toĀ workĀ onĀ movable lifts at the aircraftĀ at aĀ heightĀ of approximately 40Ā ft.Ā SometimesĀ working in aĀ ventilated fuel tank with a mask in a confined space. AbleĀ toĀ enter a wing through a 9.8 inch by 17.7 inchĀ ovalĀ opening.
- Walking:Ā ableĀ toĀ walk throughĀ office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips andĀ sometimesĀ on uneven indoorĀ orĀ outdoor surfaces,Ā other business interactions.
