Commercial Door & Frame Installer

Location: Mobile, AL
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Overtime Available

K&R Staffing is seeking experienced Commercial Door & Frame Installers for a respected manufacturer of architectural doors, hollow metal frames, finish hardware, and specialty building products. We're looking for dependable individuals who have experience installing commercial doors and hardware in schools, hospitals, office buildings, industrial facilities, and other commercial construction projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Install commercial hollow metal doors and frames.
  • Install wood doors, fire-rated doors, and specialty commercial doors.
  • Install commercial door hardware including:
    • Hinges
    • Closers
    • Panic devices
    • Exit hardware
    • Locks
    • Thresholds
    • Weather stripping
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and installation specifications.
  • Ensure all installations meet building codes and customer specifications.
  • Perform adjustments and troubleshoot installation issues.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, lasers, and measuring equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Travel to local job sites as needed.


Requirements

  • Previous experience installing commercial doors, frames, and hardware required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Experience using power tools and hand tools.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred.
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in various indoor construction environments.
  • Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.

Preferred Experience

  • Hollow Metal Door Installation
  • Commercial Hardware Installation
  • Access Control Hardware (a plus)
  • Fire-Rated Door Installation
  • Automatic Door Systems (preferred but not required)
  • Construction or Finish Carpentry Experience
