The Fire Alarm Install Apprentice Technician is designated exclusively for individuals enrolled in Pye-Barker’s formal, registered apprenticeship program. This role focuses on developing technical competency through structured training, hands-on experience, and defined learning milestones. The apprentice works under direct supervision. This level designation remains in place for the full duration of participation in the registered apprenticeship program, regardless of business title.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with the installation of fire alarm systems under direct supervision.
Participate in structured training and complete required apprenticeship milestones.
Develop technical skills related to fire alarm system installation.
Use hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Support senior technicians with job site tasks and material handling.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Learn and follow applicable codes, standards, and installation practices.
Work collaboratively with team members to complete assigned tasks.
Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
Adhere to instructions and guidance from supervisors and program mentors.
Travel to job sites as required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be enrolled in Pye-Barker’s formal and registered apprentice program.
Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required.)
Other Duties:
Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
