Leidos is seeking Computer Engineers and Electrical Engineers for cutting-edge engineering efforts within the Maritime System Solutions (MSS) Portfolio of our Undersea Systems Division (USD). This role is an opportunity to contribute to innovation in underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, subsea telemetry, and ISR solutions that support critical defense and national security missions.

You'll work with a multidisciplinary team developing advanced maritime technologies, from prototype design to full-scale system deployment for ongoing Navy missions.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to technical innovation and product improvements aligned with customer needs and mission goals.
  • Firmware & Software development for microcontrollers and FPGAs.
  • Circuit board level design of high reliability, high voltage (1kV or greater) DC/DC power systems
  • Circuit board level design of simultaneously sampled remote analog data acquisition equipment
  • Design of long-distance fiber optic telemetry systems

What You Bring

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • At least 8 years of experience with subsea maritime systems or other integrated electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with design, prototype, production and test of multi-layer printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
  • Experience with FPGAs and MCUs
  • Functional literacy of Linux operating systems and ability to use basic command line tools
  • Experience with C/C++ & cross-platform compiling for ARM systems
  • Familiarity with Python, Bash, MATLAB, SPICE
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
  • Commitment to complete and accurate documentation of designs, procedures, analyses, and test results as part of the engineering deliverable.
  • Ability to apply best-practice engineering principles to firmware & software development
  • Experience producing engineering documentation suitable for design reviews, manufacturing, and long-term support
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively towards defined objectives within a multidisciplinary geographically diverse team
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and quality-focused engineering processes

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Altium Designer
  • Experience with Xilinx Zynq FPGAs and Vivado IDE
  • Experience with Microchip PIC32 & PIC24, STMicroelectronics STM32
  • Experience with UUVs, deployed subsea systems, and underwater payloads
  • Exposure to DoD technical program execution
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
  • Willing to travel up to 10%
