Job DetailsJob Location: Medical Mall MLK - MOBILE, AL 36527JOB SUMMARY: To perform minor repairs (not requiring performance by trade persons) to building, facilities and service equipment, and to provide driving functions for the Mobile Medical unit as well as work with the clinic as required. This position is designed to meet the general maintenance and repair needs of all clinical and administrative buildings of Franklin Primary Health Center, Inc. This is routine unskilled and limited semi-skilled manual work in general maintenance, construction and /or labor activities and commercial driving. ESSENTIAL FUNMOBILE UNIT RESPONSIBCTIONS: MEDICAL UNIT DRIVER: Drives mobile unit within the limits of the law Conduct pre-daily operations safety checks and submit all checklist reports to Supervisor weekly. Maintains mobile unit, equipment and replenishes non-medical supplies as need. Ensures the mobile unit is clean and in good working condition. Assist with site selection for Outreach, Programs and Special Events. Responsible for all manuals on the mobile unit Assist medical personnel as needed. Available to work flexible work schedules, to include weekends, before and after events Assist in training potential CDL applicants Maintains CDL certification and safe driving records. Observes all state local traffic regulations, laws, and ordinances in the operation of a motor vehicle while engaged in Center business. MAINTENANCE/REPAIR: Obtains work assignments form supervisor, contacts person requesting repairs and determines type of repairs required. Performs minor repairs to building fixtures. Performs minor plumbing and electrical repairs, cleans or electrical fixtures, replaces bulbs, and performs touch-up panting (interior and exterior brush, roller, or spray painting to maintain building in state of good repair). Reports major maintenance and repair jobs to Office Manager and/or supervisor. Manually, or using hand truck, perform various material handling duties in the facilities, (i.e., moving of boxes, office furniture, and equipment). Completes work orders for maintenance assignments, indicating materials used and time involved. Removes garbage/trash daily from the premises of each clinical site intermittently during the course of work day and/or repair assignments. Maintains an inventory of tools, repair and material supplies. Prepares requisitions for signature of supervisor as replacement needs dictate. May use personal tools. Performs other maintenance, repair and construction duties within ability and skills for FPHC, Inc site locations as requested by supervisor. Participate in Facility and Safety Committee meetings. Assist in the inspection of all FPHC facilities. Performs other related work as required. Must adhere to safety policies and procedures. 2. Must receive Safety and Hazardous Communication training annually. 3. Must exercise universal precautions and comply with safety standards and procedures. 4. Knowledgeable of OSHA and CLIA requirements to assure compliance. PRIVACY RULE COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS: Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA Privacy Rule) policies and procedures. Must successfully complete Privacy Rule compliance training annually or as revisions are made to the policies and procedures. Must comply with Privacy Rule guidelines by learning to protect FPHC patient’s medical privacy. Must comply with Privacy Rule guidelines by appropriately maintaining our patient information in compliance with national standards. 5. Must comply with Privacy Rule guidelines by providing appropriate security of FPHC patient records PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION (PHI) ACCESS -RESTRICTED- For purposes of HIPAA Compliance there are 4 workforce categories, which define the level of access to PHI that is granted to the incumbent. This position is classified under Ancillary Providers and therefore granted restricted access- to be defined according to workforce member’s specific job duties, if for non-treatment purposes, according to the purpose for which use is intended. Use and disclosure must be in accordance with applicable privacy policies and procedures. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Performance will be evaluated by the Director of Planning, Development & Facilities annually wherein an overall satisfactory rating is considered as a minimum acceptable level of performance. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Must hold current Class B CDL license, clean driving record and 21 years of age, as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation. Prefer front and/or back office clinical experience but training is available. Demonstrates knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures in field. CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid AL driver license with CDL Class B certification, liability insurance PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Sitting, standing, stooping, walking and driving required too perform duties for Mobile Clinic environment. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity required. The ability to distinguish letters or symbols required. The use of office equipment, such as copier, computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, calculators or fax machines is required. Normal vision range required.
