Responsibilities

  • Abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner
  • Communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients and families
  • Responds to overhead pages; completes and maintains accurate records as required
  • Investigates and prepares legible written reports of incidents and accidents
  • Reports must be concise and within the standards of the University, Hospital and Security Department
  • Inspects doors and lights as required
  • Responds quickly to fires and other emergency situations
  • Requires minimal supervision, performs preventative patrols of the hospital and grounds, assists the Police Department as required on the property, completes all required training for Department and hospital requirements, accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict
  • Cooperates, helps others and improves the performance of the unit
  • Completes all mandatory unit, educational and hospital requirements
  • Utilizes cost effective practices in performing all aspects of the job
  • Performs security desk duties while monitoring security video systems equipment and magnetometers
  • Patrols premises on foot and by cart to protect persons and property
  • Occasionally works in inclement weather exposing employee to elements
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.


Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent and 1 year of security or related experience. Required
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required
  • Specified positions may require a permit to carry firearms in Mobile County, Alabama.
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
