Responsibilities

  • Schedules patient's surgery or testing as ordered by the physician
  • Schedules office and hospital based medical procedures, for patients with appropriate provider and time/location slot utilizing scheduling codes
  • Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding surgery preparation, time of patients scheduled arrival, and any other directional information needed
  • Takes appropriate action in responding to questions from patients
  • Confirms patient's Insurance provider and obtains prior authorizations when urgent
  • Ensures patients have proper medical clearance and pre-surgical testing as needed
  • Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone
  • Assists other members of the department as needed
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.


Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related experience Required
    • Experience in customer service and/or experience in a healthcare setting Preferred
    • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
