The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in a patient care environment.
The Unit Secretary/Nursing Assistant will perform clerical duties and assist in patient care delivery, spending at least 50% of the time as a Unit Secretary.
Candidates must have completed a Nursing Assistant Program, Medical Assistant Program, or equivalent work history, along with BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Desired qualifications include working knowledge of Unit Secretary functions and certification as a Nursing Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant.
The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Overview

Responsibilities

Performs as a Unit Secretary at least 50% of the time and functions as a Nursing Assistant as assigned. Performs clerical and reception duties to maintain efficient operation of the department. Assists in the continuity of patient care delivery within an assigned area by providing direct personal care, rehabilitative measures, and supportive services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or GED equivalent with average reading, writing and oral communications skills
Working knowledge of direct patient care
Basic knowledge of Unit Secretary functions
Successful completion of one of the following:
- Nursing Assistant Program
- Medical Assistant Program
- Equivalent work history in a patient care environment
- Rotation with total patient care at Nursing School
- EMT Training

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

BLS - American Heart Association

Desired Qualifications

Desired licensure, Registration, Certification

Certified Nursing Assistant or Registered Medical
