Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Press Operator to join our team! The Press Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of the production line focused on manufacturing raised panel components (such as door panels involving pans, stiles, rails, and stamps).
Shift: Fri, Sat, & Sun: 7am - 7:30pm with 4 hours of comp time
What You’ll Do
- Setting up and operating raised panel presses and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Completing accurate production documentation, transaction reports and work order reports.
- Setting the pace of the line to meet production and efficiency goals, identifying and communicating barriers to leadership.
- Guide and direct press helpers for the safe and efficient operation on the line.
- Must be able to coordinate the press run with upstream and downstream operations.
- Maintaining inventory accuracy through proficient use of the Navigator system, including completing required training, entering transactions timely, understanding roll former tags, and counting/measuring pans and consumed parts.
- Performing quality checks on materials and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Ensure the working area is safe, clean and organized.
- Perform any other duties or special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic math skills with the ability to read a tape measure.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge to set up and operate various equipment to produce the different panels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
Other Job Responsibilities and Physical Requirements:
- Standing / Walking
- This position requires standing and walking throughout the entire shift while working on the production floor.
- Bending
- Frequent bending is required to perform tasks such as moving carts, handling & setting materials, and completing other job-related activities.
- Lifting / Carrying
- The job requires frequent lifting and stacking of banded door panels to various levels. Maximum required individual lifting limit is 45lbs and 50+lbs for team lift.
- Frequency of lifting and carrying varies based on assigned tasks.
- Pushing / Pulling
- Pushing of carts is often required with occasional pulling; A force of 50lbs is required to move a loaded cart; Pushing over 50 lbs. requires two people.
- Manual Dexterity
- Must be able to grip small objects to cut rubber and maneuver hands/wrists in consistent repetitive motion.
