Responsibilities:
Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule for assigned companies.
Review, verify, and reconcile team member timecards, wage calculations, deductions, and withholdings.
Process team member paychecks and earnings statements while ensuring compliance with company policies and payroll regulations.Â
Audit payroll records to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
Apply and verify job costing and performance pay calculations for accuracy.
Process new hire payroll documentation and maintain team member payroll records.
Update team member payroll information, including tax withholdings, direct deposit changes, garnishments, transfers, and exemptions.
Process payroll adjustments, retroactive pay increases, and corrections as needed.
Track team member vacation, sick leave, personal time, and other paid leave balances.
Prepare payroll reports including earnings, taxes, deductions, and regulatory reporting.
Ensure timely payroll tax remittance and compliance with California and federal payroll regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive team members and payroll information at all times.
Provide payroll support and guidance to team members and managers regarding payroll questions and tax-related matters.Â
Assist with payroll system improvements, automated timekeeping, and process enhancements.
Maintain current knowledge of payroll laws and regulations through ongoing professional development.
Provide support to the Culture and People Leader and assist with additional administrative responsibilities as needed.Â
Qualifications:
High School Diplomas or equivalent required.
Two or more years of payroll processing experience or equivalent on-the-job training required.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
Experience processing payroll in California with knowledge of state and federal payroll regulations.Â
Experience with ADP or similar payroll software required.
Experience with ServiceTitan or similar workforce management software preferred.Â
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including basic to intermediate Excel skills.
Strong 10-key data entry and computer skills.Â
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet strict payroll deadlines.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams.Â
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Comfortable learning new technologies and continuously improving payroll processes.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Must be generally available by phone outside of normal business hours when payroll or business needs require.
