Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Technician (Mechanic) in WALLER, TX

Job Summary

The Fleet Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role supports daily operations by minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment (oil changes, brake service, tire rotations, inspections, etc.)
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Repair or replace brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical components
  • Conduct DOT and safety inspections and maintain compliance records
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs as needed
  • Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
  • Use diagnostic tools, software, and service manuals effectively
  • Ensure shop tools and work areas are kept clean and safe
  • Communicate repair needs and timelines with supervisors or fleet managers
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in fleet, diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment maintenance
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs
  • Ability to read repair manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus, if applicable)
  • ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in varying weather conditions
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment safely

Work Environment

  • Shop and outdoor work environments
  • Exposure to noise, grease, chemicals, and moving equipment
  • Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm (work shift flexibility)
  • May require occasional on-call or weekend work
  • Agriculture Exemption for overtime (No OT paid)
