Freeman Boatworks鈥攔ecognized worldwide for quality, performance, and comfort鈥攊s seeking a skilled Finishing Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fiberglass and gel coat repairs on hulls, decks, and small parts, helping ensure every boat meets our high standards of craftsmanship and finish.
What You鈥檒l Do
路 聽Inspect parts and surfaces to identify required repairs
路 聽Repair gel coat surface defects such as scratches, voids, and surface distortion
路 聽Use grinders, sanders, buffers, drills, and other specialty tools to complete repairs
路 聽Mix and apply gel coat and/or resins in accordance with product specifications and safety guidelines
路 聽Perform spot gel coat spraying as needed
路 聽Follow all safety protocols, material handling procedures, and disposal guidelines
What We鈥檙e Looking For
路 聽Previous experience with gel coat and/or paint repair preferred
路 聽Experience working with fiberglass or in auto body repair is a plus
路 聽Familiarity with mixing gel coats and/or paints with activators
路 聽Working knowledge of repair tools including sanders, buffers, and spray equipment
路 聽Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular physical activity, including but not limited to:
路 聽Climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, squatting, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
路 聽Working in awkward positions or confined spaces for extended periods
路 聽Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
路 聽Exposure to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and occasional outdoor conditions
路 聽Exposure to materials such as acetone, resin, fiberglass, putties, glues, and cleaners
