Motor Hanger / Rub Rail Technician
Pay Range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
(Actual pay offered will be based on experience, skill level, and qualifications.)

Position Summary
Sea Fox Boats is seeking an experienced Motor Hanger / Rub Rail Technician to join our production team. This position is responsible for installing outboard motor components and rub rail systems on newly manufactured boats while ensuring proper fit, alignment, and quality. The ideal candidate has marine manufacturing experience, strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and takes pride in producing a high-quality finished product.
Key Responsibilities

  • Install outboard motor mounting components, hardware, and related rigging components according to production specifications.
  • Perform motor hanging operations, including proper alignment, securing, and inspection of installed components.
  • Install rub rail systems around the perimeter of boats, ensuring accurate fit, alignment, and a quality finished appearance.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and secure rub rail materials using appropriate tools and installation techniques.
  • Inspect completed work to identify defects, damage, improper installation, or quality concerns.
  • Make necessary adjustments or corrections to ensure work meets Sea Fox quality standards.
  • Read and follow work instructions, production procedures, and installation specifications.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and marine installation equipment.
  • Maintain an organized work area and follow all safety requirements.
  • Communicate material issues, quality concerns, or production delays to leadership.
  • Work collaboratively with other production team members to maintain workflow and meet production goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in marine manufacturing, boat building, boat rigging, or a similar marine production environment is required.
  • Previous experience installing rub rail systems, marine trim, hardware, or related boat components is required.
  • Previous experience with outboard motor installation, rigging, or marine assembly is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and complete detailed installation work.
  • Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and install components according to specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, diagrams, and production requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a production team.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to meet production schedules.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a marine manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, fiberglass materials, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be comfortable working around boats, production equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements required for installation tasks.
  • Must follow required safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
