Description

Join the team behind the industry’s premier offshore fishing boats!

Freeman Boatworks is looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined team member. This position focuses on the installation of key components—such as decks, liners, consoles, leaning posts, and other fabricated parts. If you're detail-oriented, take pride in your work, and enjoy being part of a team that delivers excellence, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble and install structural and cosmetic components of our boats
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools including tape measures, razor knives, screw guns, drills, and ratchets
  • Identify and correct defects, ensuring all work meets Freeman’s quality standards
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet daily production goals
  • Perform fiberglass grinding and cutting to fit parts as needed
  • Assist with minor lamination work

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in assembly or hands-on mechanical work preferred
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment (may include sun exposure)
  • Able to climb stairs, ladders, and ramps to safely access boats and equipment
  • Detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills and the ability to stay on task
  • Experience using hand tools and following written/verbal instructions
  • Strong safety awareness and willingness to wear PPE (eye/ear protection, gloves, etc.)

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, kneel, and bend for extended periods
  • Must be able to work a 10-hour shift or longer, including overtime when needed
  • Exposure to loud noise, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and fiberglass dust is common
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Great benefits—medical, dental, vision, company-paid life and disability insurance, and more!
  • 401(k) with company match
  • A people-focused workspace with an emphasis on team collaboration and industry innovation

Please note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
