SUMMARY

The Support/Production Technician is responsible for supporting daily manufacturing and production operations by operating equipment, monitoring processes, performing routine maintenance, handling materials, and ensuring product quality and safety standards are maintained. This position works closely with operations, maintenance, and production teams to maximize efficiency, reliability, and productivity within an industrial facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate, monitor, and support production equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform routine inspections of equipment, systems, and production areas to identify operational issues.
  • Assist with startup, shutdown, and changeover activities for production equipment.
  • Monitor process conditions, gauges, meters, and control systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform material handling activities including loading, unloading, transferring, and staging raw materials and finished products.
  • Collect samples and perform basic quality control testing as required.
  • Complete production logs, operating reports, checklists, and shift documentation.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure work areas remain clean and organized.
  • Follow operating procedures, safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Utilize forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, and other material handling equipment as authorized.
  • Participate in safety meetings, process hazard reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify equipment abnormalities and report issues to supervision promptly.
  • Support outage, turnaround, and special project activities as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to operate industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating procedures, safety documents, and production instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training or industrial operations experience preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or industrial production environments preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, material handling equipment, or process equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures preferred.
  • TWIC card may be required depending on facility location.

  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and protective clothing.
