Job DetailsJob Location: Monroe Township, NJ 08831Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $67.00 - $70.00 HourlyJob Shift: DayJOB SUMMARY The Corrections Psychologist at the Juvenile Justice Center in Monroe Township, NJ will be responsible for the delivery of psychotherapy, diagnostic, and therapeutic services in a contract facility. The Psychologist will also act as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and a liaison with other medical disciplines. The Psychologist will ensure that psychotherapy treatment services are delivered to inmate patients in timely and effective, achieving desired patient outcomes while maintaining the established guidelines. Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice. Adheres to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations. Attends all CFG Health Systems related staff meetings. Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities. Completes required orientation and trainings directed by facility. Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment. Follows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence Protocol. Adheres to PREA regulations. Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility. Identifies and utilized appropriate channels of communication with supervising staff.   POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Performs and documents routine psychiatric intakes, assessments and evaluations on inmate patients referred by the nursing/professional staff of the assigned correctional facility consistent with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards of care, American Psychological Association (APA), NJ 10-A, American Correctional Association (ACA) and Performance Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS) as appropriate. Ability to diagnosis and treatment of mental illness, psychological assessment/testing, psychological evaluations, and crisis intervention. Supports and provides direction for the psychiatric and behavioral health care delivery system and coordinates with the other functions within the institution. Meets regularly with the site mental health and medical staff for mental health issues as requested. Conducts individual and group psychotherapy. Contributes to behavioral health program development, policies, and evaluation. Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms. Promotes a therapeutic environment to ensure inmate patients are treated in a professional, ethical and tactful manner. Confer with patient’s relatives regarding illness and treatments. Collaborate with Advanced Practice Nurses. Designate the level of care to be performed and the necessary equipment needed.   QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education Completion from an accredited medical school facility with a degree in Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor Psychology (Psy.D.). Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state is located (maintain a current copy of license on file at the facility at all times). Minimum Work Experience Experience with mental health delivery systems. Previous professional experience in the mental field that indicates knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorder and psychological evaluation techniques, including psychological assessment instruments. Required Skills Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills. Ability to make decisions independently. Assertive, empathetic and able to provide care objectively. Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to command the respect and confidence of inmates and staff; and philosophically committed to the objectives of the facility. Capable of preparing written reports and able to handle legal depositions and court hearings. Maintains an active Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
