Job Description:
*Â This position has two levels. Wage scale provided reflects both.
The Machine Operator receives on-the-job training and supervision to learn to operate numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate aerospace parts per engineering specifications.
What will my responsibilities include?
- Under supervision, learns and performs the following:
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
- Perform work instructions with the exception of set up procedures.
- Meet job standard times
- Recognize general production problems
- Basic machine language, including M-codes and G-codes.
- Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using standard measuring toolsÂ
- Read and interpret general manufacturing drawings
- Performs miscellaneous duties in the machine shop as directed when supervisor is unavailable for training
- Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.Â

What key skills and experience do I need?
- Demonstrates a good attitude toward work and arrives on time for start of shift
- Follows instructions and demonstrates strong attention to detail.
- Communicates well verbally and in writing
- Mechanically inclined, with good manual dexterity
Qualifications:
Preferred:
- Strong skills and aptitude in math.
- Completion of aptitude test during interview process
- Completion of vocational or college training in machine shop (Certificate of Completion of basic machining course)
- Ability to perform basic functions with MS Windows-based computer operating systems, such as opening and closing files

Salary Offering:Â $23.00 per hour to $27.75 per hour
Shifts available:
DAY:Â M-TH, 5:00am - 3:30pm
NIGHT:Â M-TH, 3:30pm - 2:00am (see below for differential pay)
WEEKEND: Fri/Sat/Sun, 5:00am - 5:30pm OR Fri/Sat/Sun, 5:00pm - 4:30am (see below for shift premium and shift differential pay)
