This SkillBridge internship offers transitioning Service Members an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial construction estimating while working alongside experienced project managers and operations professionals.

SkillBridge Internship Summary
As an Estimator (Roofing) SkillBridge Intern, you will learn the processes and tools used to develop accurate project estimates and proposals for commercial roofing projects. You will gain exposure to construction drawings, project take-offs, proposal development, bidding processes, and project coordination while supporting experienced project managers and operations teams.

This internship is designed to help Service Members translate their military planning, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills into a civilian construction and project support career.

Internship Responsibilities
During the internship, participants will receive training and practical experience in:
  • Assisting with the development of project quotes and estimates using company software
  • Supporting proposal and scope-of-work creation for commercial roofing projects
  • Reviewing architectural and construction drawings to perform project take-offs
  • Collaborating with project managers and operations teams to develop accurate and profitable estimates
  • Assisting with project submittals and contract documentation
  • Learning construction bidding and procurement processes
  • Supporting project planning and coordination activities
  • Utilizing estimating software and Microsoft Office applications to prepare project documentation
  • Participating in site visits and field observations as needed
  • Developing an understanding of commercial roofing systems, materials, and industry best practices
