We are seeking a Flash Grinder to work in our Monroe, NC facility. In this position you are responsible for performing a variety of precision surface grinding operations using flash grinders. This role is a crucial part in the finishing process, as you will ensure the bars have a quality finish. A successful candidate will be self-motivated and show attention to detail.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Use frame grinders to remove excess flash and defects such as laps, seams, pits, and cracks as identified by the operator.
  • Load and unload machine physically or by using an inside crane.
  • Use frame grinders for grinding oversized bars to meet size specifications.
  • Check materials for dimensional accuracy by using templates, drawings, or micrometers.
  • Measure bars to determine where sample is to be cut for check with template.
  • Visually inspect materials for surface defects and mark for cut-off operations.
  • Exercise identity by heat number, order number, or other identifying coding.
  • Detect and report damaged material and improper operations. Refer questionable matters to proper supervision.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations.

 

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of manufacturing experience is preferred

 

Skills

  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure and other measuring devices
