Summary:

The Parts Counterperson acts as the principal contact between the parts department and the service department for the sale of parts and accessories; and sells parts to all available customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone.

Essential Duties: include the following:

- Works towards guaranteeing ultimate customer service and satisfaction

- Assist all customers (internal and external) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.

- Delivers and/or supplies parts for the service techs in a fast and courteous manner.

- Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.

- Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information

- Strives to meet department goals and objectives

- Pulls and fills orders from stock.

- Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.

- Write purchase orders. Orders parts, and gets parts from outside suppliers as needed, with Parts or Service Manager's approval.

- Exhibits a sufficient level of proficiency in the use of EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog) and inventory systems according to dealership standards.

- Determines availability of parts and submits emergency orders for out-of-stock parts.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive parts experience preferred
• Dealership parts experience is a plus
• Honda parts experience is preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of automotive parts and basic vehicle systems
• Ability to accurately identify parts using a VIN and electronic parts catalogs
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working with computers and dealership parts software
• Ability to work effectively with technicians, service advisors, customers, and vendors
• Must be dependable, punctual, and professional
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
