The Phlebotomist 2 draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Â Performs all pre-analytical functions. Â Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Relies on establish guidelines to accomplish tasks. - Procedures for the aseptic collection of samples for blood culture are followed with less than 3% contamination rate.
- Phlebotomy areas are maintained in a sanitary and properly supplied condition at all times.
- Positive patient identification and specimen labeling is followed at all times with less than 2 incidents a year.
- All specimen collection devices and techniques are properly utilized at all times as evidenced by less than 2 incidents per year.

Qualifications
- 1 year Phlebotomy Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- See cerification requirements
- Good interpersonal/human relations skills; Good oral/written communication skills; Good teamwork skills; Good critical thinking/decision making skills; Good organizational skills
- Phlebotomy, MLA, or MA certification or license obtained within three (3) months of employment; Certified Phlebotomist or obtain a La. Medical Laboratory Assistant license
