We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. Job Description:

Operates saw equipment and performs all necessary job functions to monitor and produce quality parts within time standards and per customer request.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Operation of machine after start to ensure proper loading. Stop machine at detection of a machine, blade or quality issue.
  • Perform work instructions and standard work, and follow directions.
  • Verify part conformance using standard measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawing.
  • Meet all predetermined job times and communicate to appropriate personal when questions, problems with equipment/machine.
  • Recognize production problems and concerns.
  • Under supervision learn how to adjust saw speeds and feeds for various materials. 
  • Performs proper time recording in Vantage.
  • Follow all safety and equipment guidelines.
  • Perform typical machine shop operations. 
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee. 
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures. 
  • Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results). 
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned. 

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Demonstrate a good attitude toward work and arrive on time for start of shift.
  • Follow instructions and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos and instructions).
  • Mechanically inclined, with good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks and follow directions without deviation from procedures. 
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use basic hand held measuring tools. 

Qualifications:

Preferred:

  • 2 years of related experience 
  • High school diploma/GED or proven work history 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position works in the machine shop environment throughout the workday. This environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes and vapor from coolant, etc. Individuals must stand for much of the workday. Work activities involve combinations of walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, lifting and carrying and standing for extended periods and performing some very repetitive activities. Work requires the ability to see, hear and smell in order to detect problems. The work requires the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required. Safety training is required and provided by the Company in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and Company policy. Salary Offering: $23.00 per hour to $27.75 per hour

Shift available:

Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
