PROtect, LLC is hiring Environmental Monitoring & Mitigation (EMM) Apprentices in Mont Belviue, TX to begin a hands-on career in the oil and gas / environmental compliance industry. This is an entry-level, paid apprenticeship with on-the-job training focused on Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR), emissions monitoring, and EPA compliance.Â

You’ll work onsite at industrial facilities alongside experienced technicians, using portable analyzers to identify and reduce VOC and HAP emissions in accordance with EPA Method 21.Â

Position Overview
- The EMM Apprentice reports to an LDAR Manager and works closely with site leadership to ensure environmental compliance and customer satisfaction. You’ll be responsible for monitoring equipment routes, calibrating analyzers, identifying leaks, and documenting emissions data.

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Monitor industrial components for emissions using portable analyzersÂ
- Perform LDAR monitoring per EPA Method 21Â
- Calibrate monitoring equipment to ensure accurate readingsÂ
- Identify leaks and apply process leak tagsÂ
- Upload daily monitoring data and complete emissions reportsÂ
- Communicate findings with site and plant personnelÂ
- Follow all safety policies and report incidents or near-missesÂ
- Perform additional duties as assignedÂ
QualificationsÂ
Required:Â
- At least 18 years oldÂ
- High school diploma or GEDÂ
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportationÂ
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)Â
Preferred (Not Required):Â
- Experience in oil & gas, chemical plants, or refineriesÂ
- Familiarity with handheld/PDA data collection devicesÂ
- Mechanical aptitude or hands-on work experienceÂ

- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditionsÂ
- Comfortable with physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, stairs)Â

Working ConditionsÂ
- Outdoor and industrial environmentsÂ
- Exposure to fumes, chemicals, and loud noise (>85 dB)Â
- Climbing heights up to 300 feet and scaffoldingÂ
- Physical exertion for extended periodsÂ
- PPE and safety harness use required (must meet weight restrictions)Â
ScheduleÂ
- 4/10 schedule (four 10-hour shifts per week)Â
- Overtime and occasional weekends may be requiredÂ
