PART TIME WEEKEND COOK SUMMARY:

• 12pm - 7pm

The Cook prepares and cooks a variety of foods according to menus, dietary needs, and portion requirements. Ensures food safety, sanitation, kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and adherence to health codes.

• Cook prepares and cook items as per menus and dietary needs.
• Cook ensures meat, fish, and poultry are cooked to safe temperatures.
• Cook follows recipes accurately.
• Clean and maintain cooking equipment and utensils.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are clean and functional.
• Adhere to food safety and NY State sanitation standards.
• Maintain food usage and expenditure records.
• Inventory supplies and equipment to ensure proper stock levels.
• Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment.

Requirements

• Ability to perform a variety of job responsibilities including, but not limited to the operation of equipment and preparation of food.
• Stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Minimum 1 years’ experience as a cook in a health care setting
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
• Exemplary customer service skills.
• Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT MANDATED; we continue to offer COVID-19 vaccination based on eligibility guidance from CDC.
