Title:HVAC Facility Technician 

Location: Montgomery, TX

FLSA:Non-Exempt 

Status:Full-time

Reports to:Chief Engineer 

 

Pay Range: $20 - $25/HR

Job Summary: The HVAC Service Technician supports the hotel’s engineering and maintenance operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role ensures optimal HVAC performance across all areas of the property, contributing to a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for guests and team members.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Provide professional and courteous service at all times
  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, exhaust fans, and ventilation systems
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and meet manufacturer and brand standards
  • Monitor and adjust system controls, thermostats, and building automation systems as needed
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC systems and perform corrective repairs promptly
  • Practice safety procedures including lockout-tagout in accordance with OSHA and property-specific protocols
  • Maintain logs of inspections, repairs, refrigerant usage, and equipment performance
  • Respond to temperature complaints and HVAC-related service requests from guests or departments in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to prioritize tasks and communicate repair needs
  • Ensure all HVAC-related work areas and tools are kept clean, organized, and safe
  • Support other maintenance functions as needed, including emergency response situations

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and tools used in installation and repair
  • EPA Section 608 Certification required
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnostics and repair
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and HVAC codes/regulations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and respond quickly to urgent situations

Work Environment:

  • Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to heat, cold, and changing weather conditions
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting of items up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to noise, electrical systems, pressurized equipment, and moving mechanical parts
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, with potential on-call responsibilities for emergencies
