Job Description
The Material Handler Automation 3 is responsible for finalizing all pallets coming through the system in an automated warehouse; this excludes HSPA and stock pallets prior to take away. Ensure a clean and safe work environment according to UNITED standards.
What your day will look like:
- Support cross functional duties within other areas of operationsÂ
- Ensure work area has required supplies for duration of shiftÂ
- Verify pallet tickets from printer are in orderÂ
- Ensure correct products are placed on assigned pallet for total pallet accuracy (palletizer + hand-stack)Â
- Manually stack cases on pallets in a stable fashionÂ
- Audit pallet accuracy at specified intervals according to verification process standardsÂ
- Communicate any errors that may require system pause to supervisorÂ
- Apply pallet ticket to pallet and operate pallet release controls once pallet is completeÂ
- Clear alarms relevant to top off responsibilities in a timely fashion to facilitate continuous system production.Â
- Monitor palletizer output for continuous system production
- Manually replace shrink wrap at times of wrap breakage or when wrap film roll is exhausted and remedy associated alarm  Â
- Identify, communicate, and assist in correction of missing, damaged, mis-picked cases, or fallen cases/palletsÂ
- Keep work area from palletizer to stretch wrapper clean and orderly throughout production runÂ
- Operate VPS Vertique Picking & loading software within the automation environmentÂ
- Maintain proper function of certain machines through advanced problem-solving skills and logic to include simple data manipulation Â
- Troubleshoot system for simple malfunctionsÂ
- Cleans/sanitizes production machinery and storage areas
- Performs housekeeping duties within the production areas
- Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
What you need to succeed:
- Minimum age 18 years old
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
- Conversational English understanding and communication skills required. Candidates should be able to understand and convey information in English, although fluency is not a requirement for this role.
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all company provided resources and technology
- Ability to be self-motivated and able to perform job duties with minimal supervision
- Proficient in production cleaning using food grade cleaning solutionsÂ
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 12 to 24 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to pass an Excel competency test
- Ability to demonstrate analytical, adaptability, assertiveness, business acumen, customer service, decisiveness, independence, initiative, innovation, problem solving, quality management, strategic thinking, technical, and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of package dimensions, descriptions, and SKU numbers preferred
- Ability to climb up to 24ft of stairsÂ

Physical Requirements
Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc.
