Physical Therapy Assistant

Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides rehabilitative activities and exercises as outlined in a treatment plan developed in collaboration with the Physical Therapist.

1. Education:  Associates degree from a school/college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
2. Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:  Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Alabama and holds current BCLS (CPR) certification.
3. Equipment/Tools/Work Aids:  Understands and has experience with the basic equipment used in exercise, modalities used in outpatient and/or inpatient physical therapy.
4. Specialized Skills:  Requires a high level of interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, gain cooperation and exhibit customer service skills.  Requires basic computer skills.
