The Department of Housing and Residence Life at Auburn University at Montgomery is accepting applications for a Residential Education Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates activities associated with assigned program or service and assists administrators as needed.
  • Advises students. Processes, reviews, and/or evaluates student documents.
  • Conducts student interviews.
  • Assesses student progress/needs.
  • Advises faculty as necessary and coordinates activities.
  • Provides training for assigned participants/students/clients.
  • Maintains related supplies, equipment, and instructional materials.
  • Develops and maintains related database and enters data as necessary.
  • Serves as advisor and provides guidance and direction for groups.
  • Conducts judicial meetings. Recruits, selects and trains Peer Review Board.
  • Facilitates monthly Peer Review Board Hearings. Coordinates/Implements educational programming.
  • Recruits, selects and trains Residence Hall Association Executive Board.
  • Facilitates monthly forums with the Residence Hall Association.
  • Coordinates and implements activities with the Residence Hall Association .
  • Responsible for developing and implementing Housing initiatives Identifies monthly service learning opportunities.
  • Provides community engagement opportunities.
  • Develops and implements sustainability initiatives for Housing residents.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in work related to student services


Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the University’s student policies and procedures and those related to assigned department
  • Knowledge of acceptable advising techniques
  • Knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and principles
  • Skilled in making written and oral presentations Ability to assess student progress and goals
  • Ability to process, review, and evaluate student documents
  • Ability to conduct student interviews
  • Ability to provide training for participants, students, and/or clients
