This role supervises production staff, assigns tasks, and develops employee schedules. The superintendent monitors all site activities, maintains accurate production records, and provides leadership to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability. Conduct daily workplace inspections, toolbox talks, and equipment checks, and promptly report, document, and assist in investigating all accidents, injuries, and near misses. Perform quality control audits, implement corrective actions, and work closely with QC personnel to understand material specifications and adjust processes to ensure materials remain within specification. Coordinate labor, equipment, and tools to optimize efficiency and reduce operating costs, including developing and submitting weekly rolling two-week schedules. Ensure proper feed quality and quantity from both on-site and off-site sources and oversee QC compliance by assigning staff to assist with sampling and testing requirements. Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure timely procurement of parts and materials, and verify availability prior to scheduled work. Ensure all equipment is inspected upon arrival and properly cleaned, fueled, and maintained before leaving the job site. Oversee completion and accuracy of daily equipment inspection reports, perform spot checks, and schedule routine maintenance for all equipment and vehicles. Assist with procurement of materials and parts, including preparation of purchase orders. Conduct 90-day and annual performance reviews, provide training and development opportunities, and promote cross-training to improve team performance. Address employee performance, attendance, and compliance issues through proper documentation and progressive disciplinary action. Support hiring efforts by coordinating with HR to recruit qualified candidates as needed. Monitor and respond to emails and phone calls, maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors, and approve employee timecards. Work closely with accounting to ensure accurate receipt, tracking, storage, and coding of materials and purchases. Supervise and continuously improve daily production operations, ensuring reports are completed and submitted accurately and on time. Understand and strive to exceed daily production goals while maintaining detailed logs of production activities, issues, corrective actions, and overall performance. Identify opportunities to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve profitability while meeting or exceeding targeted gross margins. Communicate product blending requirements to operators and coordinate with sales and management regarding material demand on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Ensure all production reporting, including uptime, downtime, feed rates, and workplace exams, is completed accurately and on schedule. Oversee daily yard inventory reporting at the end of each shift and ensure proper management of water volume and quality to support plant operations. Perform all other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications 18 years old or older Understanding of financial and operational performance metrics. 3+ years of mining, aggregates, or similar industry experience, with supervisory experience preferred. Strong budgeting, cost control, and financial oversight skills. Proficiency in business software and ability to learn new systems quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of safety standards and quality control processes. Physical Qualifications Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust. Ability to stand, walk, and move around the job site for extended periods of time. Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and equipment as needed. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on occasion. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required to perform job duties. Good vision (with or without correction) to safely operate and inspect equipment and job site conditions. Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a high-noise environment.
