Job DetailsJob Location: Family Guidance Center of Alabama Main office (F) - Montgomery, AL 36116Position Type: Part TimeHuman Resources Associate – Part-Time Department: Human Resources Reports To: Director of Human Resources Status: Part-Time Hours: Approximately 20–25 hours per week Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour Position Summary The Part-Time Human Resources Associate provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department. This position assists with day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, payroll support, compliance, and employee inquiries. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, able to maintain confidentiality, and interested in developing broad knowledge and experience within Human Resources. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with recruitment activities, including posting positions, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates. Assist with new-hire onboarding and ensure required employment documentation is completed accurately and timely. Maintain accurate employee information and personnel records within the HRIS and employee files. Process routine employee changes and maintain supporting documentation. Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, terminations, and employee benefit inquiries. Assist with reviewing and reconciling benefit invoices. Provide administrative support for workers' compensation and unemployment claims. Assist with processing and maintaining documentation related to employee garnishments. Provide general payroll administrative support as assigned. Respond to routine employee questions and direct more complex matters to the appropriate HR staff member. Assist with tracking required employment documents, certifications, evaluations, and other compliance-related information. Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other HR documentation. Maintain confidentiality of employee, payroll, benefit, and organizational information. Assist with HR projects, audits, employee communications, and departmental initiatives. Perform other HR-related duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. College coursework or a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred. Previous administrative, customer service, or Human Resources experience preferred but not required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. Ability and willingness to learn HR information systems and other workplace technology. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The successful candidate should demonstrate: Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Strong customer-service skills. Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines. Ability to follow established policies and procedures. Sound judgment and willingness to ask questions when clarification is needed. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of the HR team. Willingness to learn and accept coaching and feedback. Confidentiality Due to the nature of Human Resources, the employee will have access to confidential and sensitive information. The HR Associate is expected to maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee records, compensation, benefits, medical information, personnel matters, and other confidential organizational information.
