Description

Job Description:

Provides information to diagnose patient illnesses by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs. Radiologic Technologists report to their assigned division manager. 


Expectations:

  • Complete all exams that are assigned, in a timely manner. 
  • Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.
  • Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors. 
  • Keeping all paperwork, equipment, vehicles, organized and neat. 
  • Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; informing supervisor of supplies needs. 
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. All technologists are responsible for staying up to date on licensure. 
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and policies issued by Vuepoint Diagnostics.
  • Documents patient care services by noting all necessary information in Rapid Rad. Also, passing along any important information to your assigned supervisor. 
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.




Requirements

Requirements:

  • ARRT (R) registry/or accredited school graduate (CPR required)
  • Minimum 1-year previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist 
  • Valid Driver’s License and maintains good driving record 
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality of all patients and other relevant information under HIPAA Guidelines



Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Internet Explorer; Outlook, IOS.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to the risk of radiation. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
