Highlights:

Summary: The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist shall be responsible to plan and implement the recreational therapy program at Crossbridge. This individual will function as a part of an interdisciplinary team and is responsible for assessments, groups, and other therapeutic program offerings as may be directed by the Treatment Manager. Patient populations served range in age from 12 years to 18 years on the adolescent unit, 19 to 54 on the adult unit, and 55 through the late stage of the life span on the geriatric unit. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Education / Experience: Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation or allied field preferred. License / Certification: CTRS preferred, BLS required, additional certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP, Secure, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Position requires sitting for 30% of the workday and mobility 70% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
Must be able to pass designated crisis intervention training examination and safely implement all physical aspects of this intervention.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
