Job Summary:

The MIP Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of the Kitchen, MIP Packaging, and Extraction departments. This role ensures that all Marijuana‑Infused Products are produced, packaged, labeled, and stored in full compliance with regulatory and internal standards. The Supervisor will hire, train, and develop a high‑performing team capable of supporting all product needs within the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.

This position requires strong technical expertise, process‑development capability, and effective leadership skills to maintain operational efficiency, product quality, and employee engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of MIP department personnel.
  • Oversee production of all MIP products in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop and implement efficient manufacturing, packaging, and labeling processes to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and create weekly production schedules to maintain appropriate stock across all product categories.
  • Assign daily production tasks to ensure fulfillment of Retail and Wholesale demand.
  • Train employees on all SOPs and enforce compliance with operational standards.
  • Establish and maintain productivity metrics for all units produced; provide reporting to relevant departments.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve production techniques to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain 100% accuracy of on-hand inventory and ensure all product handling meets compliance requirements.
  • Manage compliant receiving, transferring, and storage of all cannabis and non‑cannabis materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
  • Utilize METRC to manage product catalog, create packages, and track all inventory movement.
  • Obtain and maintain the highest level of METRC training to ensure full compliance.
  • Conduct monthly inventory audits and implement loss‑prevention strategies to minimize shrinkage.
Required Skills/Abilities: 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legal and regulatory documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with internal teams, vendors, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiencies and establish effective processes.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with adaptability, resourcefulness, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and eligible to obtain a state‑issued Agent Identification Card.
  • Completion of METRC processing center training required.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of operations or processing experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of extraction methods, infusion techniques, and cannabis S&OP processes.
  • Proficiency with METRC seed‑to‑sale tracking systems.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must meet all eligibility requirements for employment with the Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis.
