Job Title: Loader 

Classification: Non-Exempt 

Reports To: Loader Department Manager

Revision Date: March 2026

The Loader is responsible for safely loading and unloading boats, materials, and equipment for shipment and internal movement within the facility. This position supports production and shipping operations by ensuring products are handled efficiently, securely, and in accordance with company safety standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Load completed boats and materials onto trailers and transport      vehicles.
  • Secure boats and parts using straps, braces, and protective      materials.
  • Assist with unloading incoming materials and supplies.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling      equipment.
  • Inspect loads to ensure items are secure and protected from damage.
  • Maintain shipping yard organization and cleanliness.
  • Communicate with supervisors and drivers regarding shipments and      schedules.
  • Assist production teams with moving materials as needed.
  • Follow all company safety and handling procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts or loading equipment preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally. 

· May involve working outdoors or in industrial environments

· Use of protective equipment such as gloves and safety glasses

· Must be able to bend at waist and knees, climb on and off ladders, equipment, or boats and stand for extended periods of time. 

· Must be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary. 

· This is a safety sensitive position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions, a normal office environment, or factory environment that is not climate controlled. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The factory in certain areas maintains a high fiberglass and dust environment. 

Personal Protective Equipment might be required in certain areas of the factory including safety glasses, respirators, hearing protection, gloves, and protective garments.

Employees in safety-sensitive positions must report to work fit for duty and must remain fit for duty throughout their workday. To be fit for duty, the employee must not be impaired by alcohol, illicit drugs, or medication.

Environmental & Regulatory Compliance

This position performs hazardous waste management activities regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA-40 CFR 265.16) and Department of Transportation (49 CFR). The following tasks include, but are not limited to the generation, handling, labeling, inspection, and emergency response. Properly identify and characterize hazardous waste generated in assigned work areas.  Place hazardous waste into approved containers.  Ensure hazardous waste containers are closed except when adding or removing waste, labeled with the words “Hazardous Waste”.  Marked with appropriate DOT/GHS hazard indicators and their accumulation start dates, along with ensuring that hazardous waste materials are in their proper packing.  Conduct and document hazardous waste container inspections in assigned areas.  Offering hazardous waste to an approved Treatment & Storage Disposal transportation company.  Act as Emergency Coordinator or emergency response support personnel.
