JOB SUMMARY

Work directly with the Loss Control Manager to assist internal and external customers by positioning the Loss Control Department’s value. Collaborate with business partners and underwriters to optimize the use of this service and leverage findings to support effective risk understanding and class fit. 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with LC Manager and other LC Team Members to help be a “voice of LC” to agents and insureds as needed
  • Participate with business partners to meet account-level service goals
  • Assist LCS, and LCM to foster collaborative relationships with Underwriters in personal and commercial lines.
  • Provide timely response to requests for property and liability assessments in support of prompt customer response and timely business decisions
  • Assist in daily functions of internal inboxes and provide timely responses
  • Work with multiple Loss Control department software programs
  • Identify basic risk characteristics and an overview of key operations and exposures
  • Discover and evaluate customer needs through the survey process or loss trends
  • Perform daily functions of clear self-surveys, including reviewing inspection and creating valuations as needed
  • Stay current with technical subject matter
  • Create a valued customer experience through each customer engagement
  • Provide Loss Control Recommendation input and review compliance
  • Perform other duties or special projects as required or as assigned


SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Moderate supervision is received from the Loss Control Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or other appropriate discipline, or previous experience in the property & casualty industry 
  • 1+ year experience in safety, risk control, or related insurance fields including but not limited to construction, liability, hazards and mitigation of loss
  • Recognized relevant certifications (AINS, ASP, CSP, ARM) or ability to attain certifications to meet specific state requirements were applicable
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and influencing skills
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment
  • Preferred experience in an Automated Loss Control system such as Loss Control 360
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong preference for experience with Commercial UW/Loss Control
  • Strong preference for experience with property valuation tools such as Commercial Valuation.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Typical office or residence-based/field environment.
  • For field based positions, regular outside automobile day travel of approximately 80% is expected.
  • Periodic travel (including occasional overnight) in the New England states

 

 

The salary range reflected is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. In addition to base salary, this role is incentive compensation and benefits eligible, and individual salary will ultimately be determined based on individual experience, skills, qualifications and geographic location.
