JOB TITLE:  Field Support Specialist

 

JOB LOCATION:  Montrose, CO

                                                                                          

FUNCTION: The Field Support Specialist provides sales support to the sales representative by performing customer support both in the office and in the field. Is involved in projects under the location manager’s and sales representative’s direction. Serves as point of contact for triaging project questions.

 

REPORTING TO:  Building Materials Location ManagerSALARY:  $40,000 - $50,000 + Commission

 

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Visualizes, fulfills, and implements the company’s vision and core values.
  • Provides support activities both in the office and in the field for Sales Representatives by processing customer orders, tracking and reporting key data, and maintaining account records, etc.
  • Visits customer sites to walk jobs and ensure plan accuracy and deliver product as needed and requested.
  • Meets with customers on-site to review selections of product options.
  • Must be committed to developing new sales leads.
  • Prepares project bids from beginning to end by conducting research, collecting data, estimating, and interfacing with key internal and external partners.
  • Submits jobs for credit approval.
  • Requests estimates from the estimating department.
  • Orders special order items through Bistrack or vendor directly and follows through with appropriate office to avoid delays.
  • Ensures order details in Bistrack are accurate, confirms that price, discount level and product requirements are correct.
  • Ensures pricing on P.O. is correct.
  • Contacts external customers and prospects to arrange appointments, answer questions, or to update them regarding the status of an order or a delivery.
  • Communicates customer needs/concerns to Sales Rep, informing him/her of any problems or issues that may affect customer relations.
  • Tracks and communicates stock availability and production schedules to Sales Rep and relevant internal partners.
  • Accurately maintains customer records, ensuring that customer, prospect, and account information is correct.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate sales, activity, and expense reports.
  • Monitors customer job progress.
  • Performs credit collection on past due accounts for assigned customers as requested.
  • Assists field labor personnel.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and Company policies and procedures.
  • Performs any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills.
  • Ability to review and analyze details information.
  • Robust information and task management skills.
  • Possesses a detailed knowledge of Sunpro products, processes, and relevant production capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • College education is an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Field Support Specialist or in similar complex role in sales, construction, or related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical Work Requirements - Medium: exerting up to 15 lbs of force regularly.
  • Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
  • May be exposed to weather and elements as a major part of job takes places at job sites.
