The Club at Bella Collina is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Head Mechanic to support the maintenance and performance of our championship golf course equipment. Working alongside the Head Mechanic, this position plays a critical role in ensuring that all turf maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, and golf course machinery are operating safely, efficiently, and at peak performance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of golf course maintenance equipment, including riding mowers, walk-behind mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, and other turf equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues to keep equipment operating efficiently.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and department schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Assist with equipment setup, adjustments, sharpening, and calibration to maintain optimal turf quality.
- Help maintain an organized inventory of replacement parts, tools, lubricants, and supplies, notifying the Head Mechanic when reordering is needed.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and Club standards.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize disruptions to golf course operations.
- Work collaboratively with the Golf Course Superintendent, Head Mechanic, and maintenance team to ensure equipment availability for daily operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Support ongoing improvements to maintenance procedures and equipment performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience maintaining and repairing golf course, agricultural, landscaping, or heavy equipment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and small engine repair.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and complete repairs efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and cold.
- Ability to safely operate power tools, shop equipment, and golf course machinery.
