Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the proper functioning of all Banquet front of house and back of house Stewarding operations and dish rooms. Ensures an optimal supply of clean china, glassware, silverware is available and inventoried for the Banquet Department. Supports the Banquet Kitchen in movement of all hot boxes, cleaning and plating up for all Banquet Events. Works with the Director of Stewarding to ensure all Banquet scheduling is completed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

  • Assists in hiring, scheduling, breaking and proper training for the Stewarding staff
  • Manages the Stewarding staff to ensure the optimal flow of china, glassware, silverware and equipment
  • Maintain proper par levels for all china, glassware, silverware and equipment
  • Works closely with the Banquet Chef in all set up, delivery and execution of all Banquet events
  • Works closely with the Banquet Chef in maintaining all cleaning of the Banquet kitchen and equipment
  • Maintains all par levels of chemicals, sanitizers and cleaning supplies
  • Must understand all aspects of the Banquet Event Orders, pull sheets and be able to execute any request needed for all functions
  • Must have knowledge of all Banquet equipment for front of house and back of house
  • Knowledge of Birch Street to ensure all products are ordered and inventories maintained
  • Attends all necessary departmental meetings


Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Executive Steward in operations of Stewarding operations and dish rooms when needed.


Minimum Education and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
    Must have at least two years of Banquet Steward and Stewarding Management experience.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge.
  • Knowledge of all Stewarding and Banquet equipment.

Competencies:  Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

               

  • Ability to discern relevant information from multiple data sources
  • Ability to effectively communicate key research and recommendations to management
  • Strong critical thinking skills, particularly for problem solving and trend identification
  • Strong analytical, communication and financial presentation skills
  • Must have good verbal and communication skills
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license

Training Requirements:

  • Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Manager Training courses
  • Understanding of Time & Attendance system and Manager Self Service systems
  • Must complete all appropriate Banquet equipment training, including company vehicles.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in a casino environment
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
