Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating various machines used to cut, form, bend, shape, and spot-weld fabricated metal parts according to production work orders and specification sheets. This role includes monitoring machinery, performing quality inspections, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace.Â
Job Responsibilities
- Production Machinery (press brake, spotwelder, etc.)Â
- Scales and measuring equipmentÂ
- Tape measure and gaugesÂ
- Computer system/scanner Â
Essential Job Function
- Operate production machinery to manufacture metal partsÂ
- Read and interpret work orders and product specificationsÂ
- Monitor machines to ensure proper operation and output Â
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy Â
- Record production data (employee number, work order, part number, scrap, etc.) Â
- Use computer systems for tracking and reporting Â
- Stack and package finished products appropriately Â
- Maintain a clean and safe work area (housekeeping) Â
- Report to work consistently and on timeÂ
